Physiology

The Department of Physiology originated from a well established discipline in the programme of preclinical studies in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. It presents the theoretical and practical aspects in general and special physiology to undergraduate students in the first and second level, over three semesters. Furthermore, members of the academic staff are involved in research activities and supervision of post-graduate students.
The facilities available in the department include two laboratories utilized in presenting practical courses to undergraduate students. Also there is a fairly equipped laboratory for specialized research work. The department also possesses animal pens for accommodation of large and small ruminants. A small unit also provides reasonable facilities for research work on small laboratory animals. Research in birds can also be conducted as we have a well equipped poultry house.
